This sale is for 20 FRESH "Batman" Batwing ACORN Winter SQUASH Seeds (75 Day) (5" x 5" in size)-Novelty bicolor mini Acorn Squash. A spooky little Halloween ornamental. This exciting novelty acorn is ornamental as well as edible. The fruits are colorful mixture of green, yellow, and a combination of both. 1.5 lb fruit are easily harvested from the open plant and they store well. Color is variable and can be influenced by environmental conditions. A unique orange and dark green color when harvested early, becoming fully orange at maturity. Bush vines.
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS: Grow best in warm, loose, fertile soil. Seeds should be planted after all danger of frost is passed. Plant 8 to 10 seeds in hills spaced 8 feet apart and thin to three plants after the first true leaves have formed, or plant in rows 6 to 7 feet apart with 18 inches between plants. For increased yield, fertilize when the plants begin to vine and again when they begin to set fruit. Control weeds with a shallow hoeing. Keep the plants supplied with moisture and dust or spray to control garden pests. Young fruit will have the best variation in color. At maturity, the squash will be completely orange. Harvest as decorative squash before the first frost by cutting them from the vines. Store in a cool, dry place. Remember, you can add two weeks to your growing season by starting plants early in peat pots indoors.
