The King Protea (Protea cynaroides), is a flowering plant. It is a distinctive Protea, having the largest flower head in the genus. It is widely distributed in the southwestern and southern parts of South Africa of the fynbos region. These seeds are from a King Protea with outstanding flowers up to 12" across with dark pink bracts. Up to 5' tall - the leaves are 5" and leathery.

Growing :

Cover at 1/4" depth with a mixture of well rotted compost (sifted), and coarse sand. Keep damp - not wet. Requires fresh air and bright light - increase to full sun gradually after germination. Ideal pH 5.0 - 5.5. Avoid high humidity.
