This Rose Supari packet is less sweet, with a rose flavor added for those who don't care for the traditional Indian flavors. About the same size as orange label Parag packets. Contains sugar instead of saccharin. It has been shrouded in secrecy outside its homeland for ages, especially in the United States. Each packet contains crushed Betel Nut along with spices and activators. I offer this product for education and/or research purposes. NOT for human consumption. I am currently selling out of my present stock; once it is gone, I will no longer carry it as imports from India have stopped.
Traditionally, 1-3 packets are placed in the mouth and simply held there for about 1 hour. The nut pieces themselves are very hard, but soften over the hour, and the juice will release from the nut as it swishes around the mouth. There are several ingredients that help you absorb the mixture, including menthol and cardamom...it's a very Indian taste.
Be sure to check out my OTHER ITEMS as I have many varieties of seeds & herbs such as Poppies, Sunflowers, Pumpkins, Gourds, Morning Glories, WHOLE Betel Nuts, Syrian Rue, Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, Kratom, BULK seed & herb quantities, etc...
Below is information on the Betel Nut itself ONLY :

Generally the the betel-quid is a small morsel consisting of a quarter betel seed (crushed), a pinch of lime, spices like cardamom or nutmeg for flavour all wrapped in a betel leaf (Piper betle). On some PacificIslands it is traditional for the men to also add tobacco into the package. This quid is chewed slowly over several hours, causing a feeling of well-being.
The seed contains alkaloids such as arecaine and arecoline, which when chewed is energizing and is also slightly addictive.
